The Fabric Story
Tussar silk, also known as ‘wild silk,’ is produced from the larvae of several species of silkworms found in the forests of Jharkhand, Bihar, and West Bengal. Its rich texture and natural golden sheen make it a popular choice. The Madhubani art, from Bihar, adds a cultural narrative.
Weaving Technique
The Tussar silk is handwoven, often with a slightly coarse yet luxurious texture. The Madhubani painting is then meticulously done by hand using natural dyes, depicting mythological figures, flora, and fauna, making each saree a unique canvas.
